What Happens If You Put Petrol in a Diesel Car?

Putting petrol into a diesel vehicle can lead to serious fuel-system and engine problems if the vehicle is started or driven.

Petrol does not provide the same lubrication as diesel, which can increase friction and wear within the fuel system. It may also damage components such as the fuel pump, injectors and seals, resulting in poor performance, misfiring or potentially costly engine damage.
